Hi guys... OK, so quick question on the i-129F. I basically have all the documents together and ready, the only thing I am waiting for: a U.S. job. Right now I am working remotely for the company abroad that I've been working at the past year, but obviously have been job hunting for a permanent job in the U.S.

I know that the proof of income and Affidavit of Support doesn't come until Interview portion, but I know on G-325A you need to fill out your current employment and so forth. I have no doubts that I will have a good job before the end of the year, but REALLY don't want to wait until then to actually file. However, I don't want to risk getting denied or a RFE prior to then either if I submit with my foreign employment as my current employment.

Furthermore... all the paperwork from my fiance in Costa Rica is dated in October (late Oct). I'm getting nervous if I submit in December that will be consider "outdated."

I have a 2nd job interview in two weeks, that I am fairly confident I will get an offer for.... I wanted to wait until I knew for sure to submit the packet and then my G-325a already has U.S. based employment - but is this necessary? Can I submit it without current U.S. employment at this stage and still get approved, or should I just play it safe, wait a little longer, and hope for a full time position by end of Nov, Dec?

Thanks!

One option is to submit it and use your parents address (assuming they are in the US) as your mailing address and then wherever you end up working/living you know you will be able to get hold of any mail updates easily. Even people who are unemployed have successfully filed for a K1 for their finace with a suitable co-sponsor, so I don't see why your country of current employment should matter and like you said the affidavit of support isn't needed yet, so I don't see any reason to delay. All you need to ensure is that you will be able to spend around 6-12 months in the US after your fiance arrives on their K1 so they can go through AOS.

Ah makes sense! I didn't catch the part where you are working remotely for your foreign job

We have just applied and my fiance is also currently job hunting. We figured he would have a job by the time its get to needing to show financial support so aren't too worried at this stage. I have read about a lot of others on VJ who have done the same! And like I mentioned, a co-sponsor may also be an option if needed further down the line. I'd recommend just filing as soon as possible, I'm sure you will get a job in the meantime!

Hope that helps & good luck!

Thanks pheebs! Glad to see someone in the same boat. :) so what did your fiancee write on the G-325a for current employment? Unemployed?

I believe he wrote "recent graduate seeking employment" in order to avoid that term :P:rofl:

Like I said, we have also only just filed, but fingers crossed (and from what I've read on here) it shouldn't cause any problems.

You fill out the G-325A with your current information. What is current now as you fill out the paperwork for the I-129F may not be what is current when you supply the I-134 later for the K-1 visa interview. That does not matter. They do not need to match up. You will provide your proof of current employment along with the I-134.

Hi KayDeeCee -- right. As I was thinking about it all I was worried that if my G-325A didn't match up with I-134 it would be an issue, but obviously that would be ridiculous.

My main concern --- if my current employment is listed as in Costa Rica, instead of the U.S. - could this potentially cause an issue when they first review my case? I'd rather wait and have a U.S. job to submit instead of getting an RFE down the road, but if this is a non-issue and I am overthinking, I'd rather not wait....
