Hi guys,

I sent our AOS application last october 23 and it received...

But until now i have not heard from the USCIS...

I thought they would email me when they received it...

Im a little worried becoz i need a job asap the problem is i cant find any job until i have my employment permit...

Im in a bad situation coz my husband just lost his job coz the company closed down with out any noticed...

I wonder how long it takes the biometrics appointment...

And the EAD is says 40days... So is it 40days from filing or 40businessdays when the DHS actually open my packet...

Do know what number should i call and follow up my case?

If you guys has experienced the same pls pm me thanks very much...

Hope to help you, but need some clarification.

Do you have delivery confirmation of your AOS packet to Chicago lockbox? I have heard of folks that have had to wait at least 30 days before they received their NOA1 receipts from USCIS. Have they cashed the check?

From VJ stats, USCIS is currently processing I-765 apps. with NOA1 dates of Aug 24, 2014.

You can contact the USCIS customer service number, 1-800-375-5283. However, I don't know how much success you will have since it sounds like you just submitted your AOS packet less than a month ago. Hopefully you will get your receipts soon.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

We used money order... I dunno how it works do they notify you when they going to cash it?

They will. As you can see on my timeline, I submitted my AOS/EAD last October 5 and received a receipt from them on October 20. Sadly, until they cash the check you can't check your status coz it won't be in their system. That's what happened to me when I tried calling them for a follow up coz we haven't received a notice after filing it. Luckily, I received an email 15 days after then received another mail for Biometrics.

I am also stuck with my K1 to AOS application, they received my application last August 22, 2014 and completed my biometrics last September 11, 2014 and since then NO UPDATE from my case. CAN'T APPLY FOR Driver License and most importantly I can't work.

If you can demonstrate extreme financial hardship you might be able to get your EAD expedited. Here is a link discussing the topic in more detail.
