Immigrant Data Summary shows wrong info

Hello fellow VJs.

First of all i would like to thank everyone on visa journey for their incredible response whenever i faced a problem during my IV application process, specially the threads started by Saylin.

Coming to the topic.i finally received my immigrant visa yesterday . The information on the visa itself was all correct howeverthe 'Immigrant Data Summary' sheet that came on top of my IV package had some mistakes in it. All of my personal information is fine but in my fathers and mothers name category they have written someone elses name, i dont even know whose name it is. They have also written someone elses final address in the US. I am confused how the embassy can make such an error.

I was interviewed at another city (Living in karachi, interviewed at Islamabad) and the embassy in Pakistan does not accept any Phone calls. I have emailed them but it takes time for them to reply. I would like to ask VJ members if anyone has gone through a similar situation? I have read about typos on the sheet however having something completely wrong on the Data sheet worries me

You will most likely need to make a return trip to Islamabad to have the information corrected.

the same situation happened to me (my interview was in Saudi Arabia), my 'Immigrant Data Summary' sheet was full of mistakes and i emailed the embassy and they told me you just make sure that your printed visa and bio information in your passport are correct that's all mater but the mistakes on the sheet are not important ( i made a print out of that email) and i carried it out with me when i was travailing to US, my POE was JFK, and every thing went smooth even that i mentioned to the officer about the mistakes and he said it is OK it will not cause problems without looking to the email. , yeah and alhamdullelah i received my SSC and green card later without any mistakes

wait for the embassy response but i think it is not a problem !

Apologies for posting the topic under the wrong heading.

A return trip to islamabad!!?! Well i dnt want to sound rude but the us embassy should know money doesnt grow on trees. I think theyl ask me to post the documents rather than requiring me to go back to islamabad (i received my passport on a pick up location as well). But still any of the procedures is highly frustrating and kind of annoying, after such a long wait, again having to go through a procedure :s

Pheww! Well your post kind of gives me some relief. Hopefully the same applies to my situation as well and i dont need to go through a procedure to rectify the embassy's mistakes. Can you tell me if your IDS mistakes were just typos or were there major mistakes like someone else's name/address?

It should not be a problem as long as your information on the DATA Page of your visa is correct. Make sure that USCIS has your correct address when paying the $165 visa fees so that they send the greencard to the correct address.
