Again I ask, what does McCain or Bush have to do with what the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth did to Kerry? Were either one of them secretly behind the scenes making this group do what they did?

Does it have to have anything to do with it? You defended McCain's patriotism, fair play. I just think election campaigns bring out underhand arguments.

Like everything else, when running for office patriotism is little more than a brand.

I remember that as well, it was a class move. I voted for McCain and I think he would've won that election without the bag of rocks known as Sarah Palin.

IDK, he turned into a right wing nut in 2008, because he had to in order to win the republican primary. The McCain of 2000 would've made a great president IMO. Hard to say if the McCain of 2008 would've governed like the McCain of 2000. Plus you had Obama running. A good speech maker, albeit with almost no political experience. Sarah Palin just put the final nail in the campaign IMO.
