Need CFO. No ifs, ands or buts. Once immigration sees the CR-1 and no sticker, you are not getting on the plane.

It is only $25 and a half day. Not worth even thinking about how to get around it. Just do it.

It isn't about your name, it is about the VISA in your passport. ;)

"As a Filipino emigrant, or those who have been granted an immigrant-class visa, you are required by the Philippine Government by virtue of Article 19 of Presidential Decree No. 442, to register with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas before leaving the country to settle in a foreign land. "

I was just reading the links you provided. And since my wife is immigrating to the USA with me as my wife (CR1/i130), I understand she needs her CFO sticker and GCC certificate. But what about this Pre-departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) or the Peer Counseling Seminar??

I'm not sure if she needs this 2 hour class as well? Or if the CFO & GCC are enough for her purposes.

Thanks for any help Hank =))

PDOS is different, it is for exiting immigrants that are NOT a wife or fiancee.

Oh ok thanks, so when I should get cfo? After visa issued or before I get a visa interview? What r the requirments?

It really doesn't matter anymore if you do it before or after, with the appointment system things are much smoother now.

As for what is required, click my link below then click the CFO tab for details (CFO is CFO doesn't matter if it is K-1 or CR-1)

Do I need to set an schedule for that? And how to get registration form?

Follow hank's guide.

If u will be having the seminar in manila, Yes, u need to set an appointment online then print the confirmation that will be sent to ur email then present that at the CFO office. U will be asked to fill out/ sign another form before the seminar will start.
