It looks like our case will be fairly straightforward (fingers crossed)! But I was reading about what to do in between receipt of the NOA2 and the interview and have a couple of questions:

1)I've got two jobs, one is as an Adult Ed teacher so I'm not salaried, rather I have no income during the summer from that job. But I've planned for this. My other job is grant-funded and contingent upon receiving continued federal funding. It's sort of up in the air right now, but I feel fairly confident that I'll continue working there. It's not that hard for me to find a job around here that pays enough to eat and pay rent, but there may be a point where I can't reasonably sign an affadavit of support. Would it be wise to get my parents involved in this whole support question? If so, would they have to fill out their own affadavit? I've read elsewhere about cosponsors, but can't find the details.

2) ongoing relationship after the receipt of NOA2: I wasn't planning on going down to visit until we could meet up in Juarez, unless it seems that there is a hold up in the paperwork and the process isn't going as smoothly. So if things go well, would my phone bills (showing a zillion text messages a month and a phone call or two a week) suffice as proof? We don't communicate via email because he's hopeless at it. Would it be the safest route (although not the cheapest) if I planned a quick trip down there to visit? Of course, it'd probably be wise to save the money for later, but if another visit would strengthen our case and avoid not being able to prove an ongoing relationship, well, I suppose that I could get down there to hang for a few days. :)

Thanks!

We will be using phone bills and emails as proof of continued relationship. If emails are N/A, it would be a good idea to have him mail you letters through snail mail, it will show the date on the postmark. That should be enough.

We are using travel docs and hotel receipts incurred since filing for K-1, photos taken together after filing for K-1, Engagement ring receipt, letters that I wrote, and ATT phone bills.

Yikes! I didn't realize that this would be an issue, especially after 6 years together!

I'm looking at flights, and they look dismal, price wise.

Guess I'll have to use my cell phone bill, and see if homeboy can't get an email account and hope for the best. I don't think I'll be able to afford to go down there.

1) About your 1st q, i'm not sure i could help. But If you are not receiving constant salary every month and you are not above the poverty guideline (or may not even been filing your income tax returns) then I think getting a co-sponsor would be a good idea and prolly even the only way

2) I won't worry about doing another visit as long as your last meeting with him is in within 2 years. Unless you're rich enough to travel again and again then...I'd say, don't worry. I think your phone bills with SMS and phone calls record would be sufficient.... Of course if you have pictures together after filing K-1 would be even better. Stach32's idea about snail mail is good too, by the way :) Or maybe postcards??? I think you will be fine.

Thanks, Detty. You're definitely right about the money issue. And hopefully my passport stamps are clear (haven't checked for fear that they aren't) but I''ve made three trips down in the past year.

I'm definitely above the poverty guidelines, it's just that the nature of my job is such that I can't prove a steady, fulltime income 12 months of the year. At any rate, just to be on the safe side, I'd like to get my parents as cosponsors. Just don't know if that'll necessitate an affadavit of support or a letter.

Hmm.... why don't you make 2 of I-134s. One from you and one from your parents. The embassy will decide whether the co-sponsors are needed or not. Good luck!

So far for our proof of our ongoing relationship this is what we have/or going to get:

very few phone bills and text messages, think we have 2 showing 1 call each and 1 showing 3 text messages.. we just seldom call when msn voice and Vent are free to use to talk.

I did turn on save History for my msn messanger, though I did hear this wasnt really good proof, but either way all our msn conversations have been saved this about July 2006 Im going to print off just about 1 random day from each month from now until close to the interview and add that.

Postal stamps from presents we sent at x-mas, his b-day, and soon Valentines day.

A few letters/cards we have sent to each other and will send.

Reciept from the purchase of our wedding bands.

A few emails we will send each other.

Dont think we will risk another trip to actually see each other before the interview, However he was here with me when we mailed off the K-1 petition and left about 3 weeks after we got the NOA1, so I have a few pictures of us togther after the "filing" date of the K-1 not sure if it still counts but Ill probably send 1 or 2 of them too.

Scott and Misty Offcial Webpage!

How does it happen, Great love?... Noone knows.. But I what I do know is it happens in a blink of an eye. One minutes your happily living your life and the next your wondering how you ever lived without them.

Guess I'll just have to stick with my TMobile bills, maybe a Western Union slip, and my boarding pass from my last trip before filing. They'll be treated the the "Best of Edgar and Melissa over the Years" album at the interview.

If I were to mail him a letter or vice verse, with the mail system in Mexico, it's entirely possible that he's living and working in the States before it arrives in Mexico.

When I sent proof of relationship when I applied for the I-129 I didn't have much proof, I only sent proof of about 7 calls I made, a few emails, a flower delivery receipt, and some pictures. I didn't have any problem getting approved for the I-129. The same prrof of relationship was sorely lacking when my fiance had her visa interview. Seems like they are much stricter at the last mile. Make sure you have enough proof. Don't just print a few emails or a sampling of calls, you might be denied. Print out as much as you can, overwhelm them. I literally printer over 100 pages of phone calls I made from the beginning of 2006.
