Are non-lawyers allowed to charge a fee for immigration assistance?

The title sums up my inquiry. I have seen some people locally offering assistance with submission of forms and such and charging a fee. Is this permitted without a JD?

Yes, of course they can charge what ever you will pay. Most of the Visa help places that I have contacted on the internet were not lawyers. I had some problem with my paper work and used one of these places and everything went just as they said it would smoothly. But if you have nothing that would cause a big red flag you don't need these places. The good people on VJ are all more than glad to help you if needed. So save some money and do it yourself.

Good luck,

Ron

Thank you, Ron. I don't need the services. We have done everything ourselves and the only thing left is naturalization. I was just curious.
