I130 Approved, question about sponsorship or not

Good Day

Just yesterday our I130 has been approved now on to the next stage...(I am being petitioned - Wife is USA citizen)

A few specific questions I have is if we both live overseas together in New Zealand, if we don't have any job for us when we go to USA then is it guaranteed we need to prove sponsorship from a source in the USA?

We intend to have at least 20-30k saved up and our current income is above the poverty guidelines...but as we wont have those jobs in America im assuming this is the case & will need a sponsor?

Our sponsor will be my Wife's Dad , but i'm wondering if we have to go through that hassle? or whether I sponsor strengthens our case?

Kind regards,

Matt

*joint sponsor*

You do not have enough assets to qualify (you'd need 60k for a family of 2.)
