K-1 Visa IMMIGRANT or NON IMMIGRANT

Hi All,

I filled for K-1 Visa, 129F, got NOA2 09/23.

Today I called NVC and got my case number.

Went to the website to check status; I thought K-1 Visa is non immigrant visa so i went to that option first but it couldn't find my case number.

Then i selected Immigrant visa option and was able to look up my case number.

Is this correct?

Yes that is correct because the K-1 visa is processed at the Immigrant Visa unit at the embassy.

Correct. The K-1 visa is a "hybrid" visa -- nonimmigrant with immigrant intent. This is why the visa applicants are interviewed by the Immigrant Visa units in the consulates.

On here, it mentions to fill out DS-260 online.

I thought for K1 Visa, we need to do DS-160 right?

Today, The status on the page is updated, but it is still pointing me to the link for non K1 Visa information, is that normal? My fiancee should be expecting Package 3 soon right? is there anything else I can do in the mean time?
