Hi folks, I am brand new here so please forgive me if this is covered somewhere else.

Some background: We filed for a K1 fiancee visa on August 1, 2014. The USCIS website now says our I129f has been approved, yea!

It says:

"On October 2, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE...."

however I have not yet received an email or a text message or physical mail. Hopefully it is on its way.

In the meantime we are wondering about a few things.

1. Does my fiancee need to get a Philippine passport for the trip to USA after interview approval?

2. Will her 3 year old daughter need a Philippine passport? She is also immigrating to USA.

3. What vaccines will my fiancee need? She has not yet found a record of her vaccines. She does have a complete list of her daughters vaccines and it seems complete.

2. Yes, she also needs a valid Philippine passports

3. She will need to schedule a medical examination at the St Lukes Extension Medical Center in Manila before the embassy interview. They will administer any required vaccinations.

1) NO not after! You fiancee needs to have her passport BEFORE being able to complete the interview. Should have gotten this done months ago.

2) YES! No one can travel internationally without a passport. Plus she can not get schedule for her interview or complete the medical without a passport in hand either.

Need to get hustling as two passports are needed BEFORE they can do the medical or even get their interviews scheduled.

3) Don't worry about the vaccinations, SLEC will administer whatever vaccinations are required, and they are included in the cost of the medical.

For details on the complete process follow the flashing arrow below in my signature, then click the link.

BUT BEFORE YOU CAN DO ANYTHING PASSPORTS ARE NEEDED!

Thank God for this. I just came home and the NOA paperwork is in the mailbox. I can now see that it expires in JAN. If she doesn't have her birth certificate, this could be close. I guess I will know when she comes online in a couple of hours.

Your fiancee needs to get her BC from NSO, have her get a few extra.

NOA won't expire in January ;) All is good.

Welcome to the group and congratulations on the getting past the first step! There are a lot of great resources here---you have already met one of if not the best resource for Manila-based K-1 processing. Hank is an incredible support to all of us at each step in the process and his guide is complete. Now, be prepared for what could be a long and frustrating journey. Let the process happen and don't worry if it seems to be taking a long time. Joan and I started the process with nothing...she had plenty of time to get her passport, birth certificate and copies, new NBI clearance, and cenomar before the interview--and we had some issues with typos on some of the documents. Start now and you should have everything in plenty of time for the interview. Good luck!!!

thanks everyone for the help.

>>NOA won't expire in January

there is valid to date on the NOA but I guess you are hinting that the NOA can be extended?

BTW, she has both birth certificates but the child's passport may still take some time.
