A DUI is a very major offense. They will not take it lightly. Why you would risk something so close to your citizenship is beyond me. Regardless, everyone makes mistakes and I think the problem is fixable.

A DUI is one of those things that affect the moral character part of the application. However, you haven't been convicted yet so it won't necessarily affect your application yet, because the conviction is usually the big deal.

Remember that you are innocent until proven guilty. That said, it's possible they could postpone the decision on your application until after you go to court. The discretion is up to the IO if they want to let you naturalize because they have to look at your situation since every case is different and we don't know the exact details of your charges.

I can't tell you for sure if you will be denied or not, but I can say that's it not looking so good since it happened so recently. If it was something that happened a long time ago, then it might look more favorable because they would look at your behavior since then. Good luck.

They will know because you have to tell them about it. Omitting this from them will have consequences that you don't want to face.
