L1 extension denied,but have valid from Oct 1 do i need to deport?

my L1 extension got denied(i94 expired in june 2014) 10 days back.But i have H1 petition approved with new I94 (I797 A) valid from oct 1 to next 2 yrs.Now m out of status from 10 days.Does my status will be on h1 from oct1 automatically, without leaving USA?

Edit: did you get your new I-94 before the L1 I-94 expired? For short lapses you're usually ok.
