Hey VJ,

I tried calling a visa specialist to their 202 663 1225 number.. but now I am not even sure if its working or not. Theres a prerecorded message and I cant understand what the guy is saying. The only thing I understood was "Try Again". Is this number even working? what does the prerecorded message even say?

June 10: Mailed AOS via USPS 2 day priority delivery

June 12: USCIS Received paperwork

June 17: NOA1-Text messages confirming AP/EAD and AOS

June 23: NOA1- Hard copy AP/EAD and AOS

July 7: Biometrics Appointment

August 21: EAD Approval (Email Notification)

August 24: AP Approval (Email Notification)

I got a hold with someone from that number and the representative said that I need to contact the consulate which means that I have to buy a pin. Is this a new thing? I thought they were able to give me some information.

Did you already get your case# from NVC? If tht has been assigned then yes you deal with the embassy. K1's don;t stay long at NVC

Yeah i did get my case number.. The case arrived yesterday at the embassy. I guess ill have to call them next week

You really shouldn't have to buy a pin; you can if you like. The reason I say this is because, all the information you need is available for free. Once your case is forwarded from the NVC to the Consulate, they inform NVC and DOS. It will be updated on their computer system. Sometimes they get backed-up with phone calls about it from so many people. I guessing they didn't feel like handling it at that time.I would simply call again and speak to another representative. If you are told the same thing, try again on another day. Then if you feel like you're getting the run-around. Buy the Pin and call the Consulate.

Thank you for ur advice. I was also thinking of calling NVC if they give me a hard time.
