Thank you for posting, a good article that sheds light on the debate. This is my take away

"The public exchange between the president and the general who by law is his top military adviser garnered widespread attention, but reflected a more subtle difference in military strategy."

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

I think a far more apt summary is in the original post. It's a quote from O'bama:

“I think I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

And of course he knows more about military operations than his generals.

Apt? Apt for what? one groups being getting their world view confirmed from a say nothing commentary ?

I think the Wall Street Journal article that the HOTAIR.COM commentary is based on was far more appropriate (apt) for discussion of what our military and foreign policy is in the region and more apt to result in solid critical thinking skills being developed.

Apt? Apt for what?

For evaluating the situation, of course.

O'bama has shown time and again through his arrogance and hubris that he's unable to acknowledge that an expert in a particular field might actually know more than him in a particular situation. He says as much himself (hence the quote). That this now plays out in a military situation; unlikely it will end well. But that's this preznit's legacy: the reverse Midas touch.

You take a couple of moments to pooh pooh a source and yet haven't provided anything to wrap your droppings with. There's a lot of that going on in this forum so it's not unexpected. You appear to be a prog so I'll say it slowly: What is the source of your empirical knowledge that refutes the content of the article? Does your stuff come from the top of your head to your tippy toes, or did you find an old newspaper somewhere?

Droppings? I'm shocked by your droll response. The contents of the 'article' posted speak for themselves, no empirical knowledge necessary. I don't think that the commander in chief commanding is much of a shocker.

Not being able to tell a blog from a news article seems to fit nicely with your self described neutrality in regards to your political leanings. I find it easy to see how much confuses you.
