preparing to send ds -230 to nvc.

reading the guide in VJ it seems that I shoud send the certified copies

of all certificates.

I made an error by sending my original birth and divorce in initial package to USCIS.

HAVE OBTAINED cerified copies of all required certificates

Should I send these and keep photocopies for the final interview in Montreal ??

vj guide states to take CERTIFIED COPIES to interview.

seems overkill to me sine they already have the certificates.

or do I have to get all the certifictes duplicated.

hope not its a pain obtaining from Uk and canada.

I would guess many reading this have encountered this problem.

all the best

It says this in your package.......yes???

Document requirements

Please obtain the original documents or certified copies from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity) for yourself and each family member who will accompany you to the United States. All documents that pertain to your petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the BCIS with your petition

I imagine as you are sending the original certified copies to NVC plus they also have them from the initial petition that it will not be necessary to have certified copies again for the interview. On the other hand I am required to have original certified copies for the interview as I am only required to submit the DS-230 Pt I which only requires me to send in biographics page of my passport to NVC. All other documents for me will be along with Pt II at interview. So you should be just fine to submit originals certified copies again now and thats it.

PQ thxs for the input.

yes its different for some countries.

very interesting to see the nations that Canada as the same criteria for the ds 230.

one would think with a 3000 mile wide border and the 2 largest trading partners

on the earth , that things would be simpler.

started this pocess 11 months ago and still a bit to go before getting visa in hand.

luckily we get to see each other often and no young kiddies involved

I feel for those who have been apart for a year and not seen their children.

the whole system seems very arcaic and in need of a overhaul

cheeers and gday
