Hello,

we are applying for the citizenship and our timing is a bit difficult as in 3 weeks we travel out of country for 4 weeks. then will be back home for 3 weeks and gone again for 3 weeks.

Would you recommend that we send the N-400 form with all the necessary documents and a note with our travels, asking them to kindly try to schedule the biometrics in the timeframe we will be in the USA?

thank you for any advice

There's no rush to file for citizenship, such as ROC where you have the 90 day window. So why not just wait? I highly doubt they're going to pay attention to a note about travel and schedule the biometrics based on that.

I would recommend that you wait until you return from your second trip.

A delay of 10 weeks is worth not having to worry about missing a letter or an appointment.

There's no guarantee that they'll pay any attention to any notes that you attach, especially in the early stages of the process.

The only reason to apply now vs in 10 weeks is if your green card is coming up on six months prior to expiration. If it is more than 8.5 months before it expires, wait the 10 weeks and apply when you return. If it will expire in 8.5 to 6 months from now, then apply now to avoid having to also renew your green card while awaiting the N400 application.

Good point.
