Help!! Vaccination out of stock.

Hi VJ members,

I was wondering you if you can help me. My fiance just went to St. Lukes for his medical. Everything was clear; however, they told him that they were out of stock of vaccines, yet they said it's still ok to proceed with his US Embassy interview on Sept 25. and that it shouldn't be a problem. They gave him his xray CD, and the vaccination form. on the bottom it says "Vaccine History Incomplete: applicant may be eligible for blanket waivers because vaccination not medically appropriate (as indicated above)" and at the top on his table, check marks were placed under "not age appropriate", "insufficient time interval", " not routinely available"

I was just wondering is this ok? The lady from St. Lukes told him that it should be a problem, and that once he applies for his adjustment of status, then he can get his vaccines here in the US.

Vaccinations are not required for the K-1 visa. They are required when you need to file adjustment of status. If you have not received all required vaccinations you would need for the AOS for your K-1 medical, then you simply need to get those vaccinations here in the US.

Yes it is OK, many others before have had the same situation and completed their interview without issue.

mine was the same what is wriiten in your vaccination form.I got only MMR and the nurse told me to come back for the another shot of DPT coz its not available for now.

You can return to SLEC if and when they have the vaccination(s) available at which time it will still be included in your original medical fee or you can have them completed in the USA. Depending on where you go there will be an additional fee. Best price is usually with your county health department. Private Doctors will charge you more.

Usually it is just a matter of cost. SLEC gives you all the vaccines with your basic exam fee, whereas US doctors can charge quite a lot of money.

In my wife's case, she was missing varicella but had chicken pox in younger years so the CS sent her for a Titer's test to show immunity. Sure enough she was immune, and that was the end of any vaccine issues. The test was not too bad cost wise, only $72.

Yes it's okay. We were advised by the nurses that the embassy is well informed and we can leave the country even without those vaccines.

Don't worry it's nationwide. We can't do anything about it as of now. We just need to call slec next month for the availability.

When I went for my shots, Tdap was unavailable but I was told when it will be available so I just went back when they had it in stock. Now I'm doing AOS and the Civil Surgeon gave me MMR booster and flu shot.

Like what the others said, you can have your shots here. It might be more expensive though.

Ask about Titer's test if CS does not bring it up. It worked for my wife. Shows what vaccinations are really necessary, and in my wife's case none were needed. CS then signed off on the form that she does not need any.

thank you. The nurses said that my fiance can return on Oct to get it, but if he can't then he just has to get here in the US. They assured us that it shouldn't be an issue since the embassy is aware.

It for sure won't be an issue at USEM for the interview, if you can't complete the vaccinations in the Phils then go to the county health clinic to get the vaccinations once in the USA.
