We have only few days until out-of-status and now we're reading that not all paper we can fill ourselves. Can I-693 be filled by us or do we have to seek some "civil surgeon"? Who is that? How do we find one and make them fill this out in a matter of days? Shoudl they perform the exam ? Why do K1 applications then pass the exam in their own country? Any shortcuts here?

Nope. An I-693 needs authorized by USCIS appointed civil surgeons. It is okay to file after 90 days as long as you get married within 90 days. If your DS-3025 is completed and signed by panel doctor from the beneficiary's country I don't think you need I-693.

Are you a K1 visa holder? Just checking, because you asked about K1s doing their exam in their country and your timeline is blank, although K1 is listed in your profile.

As advised by Girl from Celebes above, the I-693 can only be completed by a uscis civil surgeon, not the applicant. CS locator link: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV

If you are indeed a K1, had the medical done in your home country within the year prior to AOS filing and took all the required vaccinations, then you don't need to see a CS and submit an I-693. The DS-3025 will be sufficient then.

Wait a second! WHat is DS-3025??? My fiance has of course passed all medical exams in Ukraine. But! All those exam results had been given to the embassy (one sealed envelope) and to the immigration officer at the border (another sealed envelope). We have nothing but the vacination records (in Ukrainian!!!) and the TB x-ray which apparently is not enough for 693. I have no idea whether that sealed envelop from the border will make it to the USCIS. DO we do I-693 just in case then or not?

I'm reading about DS-3025 in this K1 guide now:

_______________

NOTE: Tip Regarding Vaccination Records

The K-1/2 beneficiary will be required by the embassy to have a "medical" done prior to the visa interview. Part of this interview will require that previous vaccinations are documented and potentially additional required vaccinations performed. Once this is complete the doctor will note this on a DS-3025 form that will be sent to the embassy. During the medical appointment request an official copy of the vaccination records from the physician (or a copy of the completed DS-3025 if they will give it to you) as this will be helpful to have on hand in the future (specifically it can be helpful when filing for Adjustment of Status if your DS-3025 form is not available).

_______________

If I get it correctly we shoudl have asked for a copy from a doctor and since we didn't the only DS-3025 went to the embassy in the sealed envelope. So, what do we do now? Have CS fill out I-693 and wait few days for TB results for it (and miss our out-of-status deadline by couple days) or just not submit it and hope they will find DS-3025 in our record???

I am not very familiar with how Ukraine panel physicians release medical results, but typically in most countries, they give out a vaccination documentation datasheet called DS-3025 after the medical, which looks like this: http://www.mrspresson.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/09-K1-Medical-Exam-at-SLEC_www.mrspresson.com_.jpg

- The original medical results are, of course, in the sealed envelope surrendered to the immigration officer. To know whether or not your fiance needs to see a CS for the I-693, have a read on Nich-Nick's helpful post here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/?p=6206232

The required vaccinations are all listed in Nich's post. Check if your fiance has all of those.

Yes, the post from conny was correct, and yes...a copy needed to have been requested at the time of medical. Most of the time it is offered without request, but in you case...yes, now they've made it more difficult for you. Having a 3025 keeps you from have to go through the hassles of 693. If you haven't already...maybe research CS's in your area to see if you find some good reviews. If i remember right (if not, somebody correct me) section 5 on the 693 is what pertains to vaccinations. This is what is needed. CS's are notorious for insisting on a completely new exam.

Wish you luck.
