passport name change in Quebec

My apologies if it has already been discussed but I've looked through the forum and can't find something specific to my question...

We were married in July and I am sending in our AOS this week. In the US and on our application I am using my married name and my maiden name as a 2nd middle name (first middle maiden married).

For my Canadian passport their website and this forum indicate I can change my Cdn passport to my married name as well.

However, I was in Quebec before I came to the US. I realize I can not use my married name in Quebec but I won't be a resident of Quebec anymore, just a Canadian citizen. Since passports are federal and the rest of Canada can change their passports to their married name if they choose to....so does this apply for me as well? Can I still change my Cdn passport to reflect my new name if I was previously in Quebec?

I'm from Quebec as well. Your dealing with Passport CANADA..not quebec, they have nothing to do with your passport renewal. File it the normal way you would in the instructions and forget your from there :) ( stupid dumba$$ law anyway :P )

Few things...

You need to use a complete application, with a guarantor (two different on the web site, Canadian guarantor, or professional guarantor - forms are for Canadian in the USA) filling his part and signing your pictures. You do have to send them a copy of your marriage certificate, original of your proof of citizenship and a signed copy of a piece of ID issued by a government (state, city or federal) with your married name (driver's license, state ID, etc.)

Pictures have to be Canadian size too.

Canadian and American passport pictures have different size, and requirements. See: http://passport.gc.ca/info/photos.aspx?lang=eng

Forms to use in your situation are PPTC 153 or PPTC 140 - http://passport.gc.ca/info/form.aspx?lang=eng&region=USA
