Hi, I just mailed the entire I-129F package today. As suggested I asked for "return receipt requested / delivery confirmation" and I filled out two forms at the post office. But it appears what I mailed is a certified mail. Is this correct? Do they have personnel to sign the certified mail over there or it is just a mailbox? Now I wish I would just mail a regular mail ......

8/28/14:I-129F sent

9/4/14: $340 check posted to my bank account

9/5/14: email and text acceptance confirmation received

9/8/14: online status shows Alien Registration Number changed

9/12/14: Form I-797C received in the mail

4/7/15: Got text message and email saying the case was approved

4/9: Form I-797 received in the mail

4/13: Got text message and email saying the case was sent to the Department of State for visa processing

I called the post office. Apparently they have changed the name of "Delivery Confirmation" to "USPS Tracking" and it is provided for free with Priority Mail (which I used). So it appears I just needed "return receipt requested". "Certified" is not needed and I wish it wouldn't cause any delay. :clock:

YES, you did the right thing. Certified mail/return receipt is exactly what you wanted to do. You will get the signed receipt returned to you via the mail. Proof of delivery GOOD JOB!!

Take a deep breath and relax.

Yes, by all means relax. You will be okay. You did the right thing. Don't hyperventilate. Do you need a paper sack? This is one of the first steps in the process, you must learn to pace yourself. This whole immigration journey is not a sprint, but rather it is a marathon. :D

Yeh, I know it will take a year if everything goes smoothly ... I was with my fiancee in China less than a month ago so still excited and also sad :crying: I got to tell myself to relax!

By the way, how could I enable the showing of "File for" and "Country" under my name like other people?

From the Home page, go into your "Immigration Timeline" and "Profile" sections to populate those fields. Become acquainted with the various sections of your profile, you can do it... it's not too tricky... lol....

Good luck.
