How long did it take to receive your passport?

My fiancée passed her interview on August 14, and they told her it would take "about 2 weeks"

to receive the passport & K1 visa, but no luck so far.

How long did the foreign fiance(e) take to receive your passport

after passing the K1 interview?

This web site has been showing the same status for 1.5 weeks now.

Throughout this processing, it was tempting to make wedding arrangements, book airline tickets, etc...

but good thing that we listened to advice from other VJ-ers to not do that.

By now I've learned that only thing predictable about this entire processing is that

it's NOT predictable.

Based on feedbacks I got, looks like very recent K1 visas/passports in China are delivered in 3 to 3.5 weeks after padding the interview, and not 2 weeks they suggested after the interview.

Actually, if you look at my signature, you can see that the visa was issued right away,

and consulate has handed the package to the 3rd party company called CGI Stanley

and they are taking their slow time in shipping the package out.

Checking with other recent VJ-ers on their K1 approvals, it looks like it's taking

3 to 3.5 weeks right now to receive the packet (visa, passport, seal envelope).

so she just picked it up. So it took 2 weeks and 2 working days after the interview.

So I think we are still on track for mid-Sept. POE.

doesn't work that way.

even status is changed to 'issued' same day of interview,

the visa packet must be generated, and prior to that a Vice-Consul does another review.

it's a long laborious process, really,

and

there's a queue.

5 to 10 working days to get it done, if no problems, then shifted to the mailroom,

where

finally, CGI/Stanley Goons get involved then

it's off to a CITIC Bank Courier.

ain't no snappiness, here, at all.
