Hi,

We received package 3 and are getting ready for the interview at the Consulate. As I reviewed the DS-160 form that my fiancee was working on earlier, I realize that when I filed the I-129F form, I mistakenly put the wrong city for my fiancee's birth place (Ho Chi Minh city instead of Vung Tau).

What should I do now ? will it cause any trouble at the interview ? I hate to have to restart the whole darn thing because of one small mistake in my I-129F form :( ...

Thanks,

No you don't have to restart anything! When I filled out my I-129F on the first page I somehow entered my fiance's current town as "Thornwood" instead of "Thornhill", on the second page I entered it correctly. When the consulate sent my fiance Packet 4, the address they used had the "Thornwood" error, though he still received it without delay. He emailed the consulate about it and they changed it within 48 hours.

She was born in Vung Tau but has lived in Ho Chi Minh city most of her life. As far as her current address, everything we have on file is correct.

What's funny is the Consulate said they mailed out package 3 last week, but she never received it. When I contact them about this, they sent me an electronics version of that package (pdf), but dated (on the letter) 08/20/14 (which is today). I'm not sure what's going on here (they didn't really send out, or it got lost, or whatever), but I "kinda" got package 3 and the instruction.

Well my point was that if you email the consulate they can fix it. Do you email Packet 3 back? You can probably include the request to fix the error in the email.

"Email Packet 3 back" ?? We just finish whatever requested in the instruction, which includes DS-160, photos, passport, medical exam, etc. We don't have an option to email these back. We have to mail them to consulate.

We'll wait until the interview. This mistake is in the I-129F form, not in the DS-160 which we just submitted to the consulate just now. I'm just worried if the interviewer notice the difference in the I-129F form and the DS-160. If they don't, good. If they do, we'll correct during the interview.
