Hi,

Thank you for everybody's help on the forum. I know there are a lot of posts but I feel like I couldn't find the exact response to my question :

My wife (she's an American Citizen) filed an I-130 for me back in February 2014. On July 20th I arrived in the USA as a tourist for the 90 days that I am authorized to stay. On August 14th our I-130 was approved.

Now we wonder what would be the best solution, knowing that what we want is for me to be able to start working as fast as possible (living on one income is hard). Should we try to file an Adjustment of Status (AOS) and an EAD (I've heard that the maximum you should wait for obtaining the EAD is 90 days) or should we just continue with the NVC and the consular processing ?

Again what we are trying to do is really to let me work as soon as possible.

Thank you for your help ?

I assumed that you filed your I-130 back in France. If that is the case, you have to go back to France and continue the process through the Consulate. Believe me, if it were that easy, everybody would be doing the process this way.

Unfortunately, this is a long process we all have to go through. Good luck!

OK. Based on this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/510112-i-130-approved-can-i-now-file-i-495/ it seemed to me like it is possible. We just wonder what would be the best/quickest solution to get me to get a job.

And what would be the reasons for not doing the AOS/EAD/AP package application ? It seems to me like it would be the best solution but we talked with a lawyer, USCIS and NVC personnel and they never mentioned this option.

Thank you for the feedback :)
