Dear All,

I have a quick questioin on I-864 filing.

So here is where i am. I have filed for both my parents. I got the approval for both last week and asked me to pay the Affidavit of Support fees. Both of them have seperate case numbers and seperate invoice numbers. So i took the first one (my mothers) and went and paid the $88 fees online. Went to pay for my Dad and his shows the fee "In Process" too.. So my guess is that i just have to pay one $88 fees for both ??

The other question i have is: In Part 2 of the I-864 form, i put in my Dads name.. So in Part 3 (which says - Information on the Immigrant(s) You are Sponsoring), #2 there ask "I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within 6 months of the principal immigrant name in Part 2. Do not include any relative listed on a seperate visa petition. So my question is, do i list my mom's name here as she will be immigratin with my dad or do i need a completely seperate i-864 for her ??

Please advise.. any and all help is greatly appreciated..

Hi, you only pay one AOS fee for all immigrants being sponsored and separate IV fees for each. As to the second question, I think you only put your dad, but I have seen others put both. Hopefully someone will come along and clarify that for you. Good luck

did you file one I130 or two?

how can it be two seperate case number if you file one I130.

if both is under one I130 then yes you pay only one time $88.

on i864 you put your dad name on part-2

Part-3 you click YES on section 1. Then on section 2 you select that check box and wirte your mom name as "family Member 1"

I hope this make sense

Hi Sachin1 and J&N071213,

Both my parents have seperate i-130 filed. I got the approval from USCIS on the same day for both my parents. They transfered the petition to NVC on the same day for both my parents. From NVC i got 2 acceptance notice and 2 instructions to file I-864 fees. Also, i have to NVC Case numbers for each of my parent. I payed the fees for my dad on the NVC site and then went to pay it for my mom (using her case number) and it said it the fees is processing (just like it said on my dads case).

So, i do have 2 case numbers for Mom and Dad, though it appears that NVC just accepted 1 i-864 fee for both of them. On the NVC site, if i check either of the case (moms of dads) there is another tab there which says

"the petitioner of this case, BMBXXXX, has also filed at least one other related case which is currently in process at the National Visa Center. The AOS fee payment for this case will satisfy the AOS fee requirement for the related case(s) listed below.

  • BMBXXXXX"

So i guess they get tied together some how.

Now my question is since they are 2 seperate cases with seperare case number in NVC (But tied some how together) do i need to fill out 2 seperare i-864 forms for each ?? and then in Part 3, question 2, leave that blank ??

Thank you all for your response and help.. Truly apprecaited..

I got the same... filed two separate for both my parents... send two sets of I-864 plus supporting documents....

as to your questions... yes... Part 3... Check yes on Item 1... and on the Item 2... none....then Item 7... just put 1... for each parent... you're not supposed to add the other parent coz you have separate petition for each...

I hope this helps...
