Hello All.

How is the situation in Pakistan as I am leaving today for my wife's interview. we both will be present to ISL embassy on Tuesday 19th 2014 , The situation in Pakistan is getting worst,

let me know what is the possibility if the embassy will be opened or closed ?

April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)

November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

I doubt the embassy will be open for next couple of days. The rallies have just started reaching Islamabad today and God only knows when things will settle. I would call up the embassy first to see if they're open and conducting interviews.

Same situation is here..i am scheduled on 22nd...waited years for this moment and now every thing is messed up...embassy did not send me any notification for reschedule.

Keep us updated if embassy opens today and you are able to go through with the interview. We are waiting for embassy to open so we can get our issued passport shipped out. Good Luck and Be safe!

2015-10-01- EAD Renewal request submitted

2016-07-21- AOS denied- we missed our interview in October 2015 because we didn't receive the interview letter and we were not notified via numerous service requests and senator inquiry placed after our missed interview appointment.

2016-08-17- I290B- Motion to reconsider filed by the lawyer.

2016-12-08- Motion to reconsider denied

Now starting the whole process again and refilling I-485.

Go from Bani Gala and Bara Kaho. If u are coming for interview make sure leave at 5 am if u hv interview at 7 so that u can reach on time . Go for Express Lounge for shuttle service

I will leave for ISB on 21nd ...right now protestors are in red zone. I am nto sure if embassy is closed or not for tomorrow. They did not update any thing in news section.

Embassy is opened ad trust me we took chance and lot of ppl did not came they tought it was closed .but it as opened and embassy staff was very very helpful and also they praised us for coming to embassy. They said untill there is announcment on website consider embassy as opened. Just make sure leave 5:00 am to reach there as it takes 1.5 hours to reach to embassy

Khan are you immigrant or visit?

Fmous if you arecin ISL then call them and ask them and rechedule it ASAP. As due to this situation there are very less people in embassy for interview..

Also keep in mind that staff arives at 8:30 am

TAandNA thank you so much for updates , But i saw in website that embassy are close in 20 aug as well , and we are back to khi , So i guess we have to wait for reschedule , but thank you , Can you please post question what interviewer asked your wife , since its my wife interview it will help me . I just checked yes Embassy is closed on 20th.. however it seems miracle they were only opened on 19th !...
