Thank u all soooooo much!!!!

Oh woooow! Thank u for telling me that.. I was planing to get my ssn after the wedding cause i dont want to keep my last name at all. God bless u for telling me this.

Will i be able to change my last name though?? Completely from ssn.. I dont want to write both

You will get your SSN before you get married and after the happy event and when your EAD/AP arrives, you'll go back to the SS office and change your name! You just have to wait for 14 days after your entry in the US, for their secure database to be updated with your data. Then, you can go ahead and apply for an SSN.

I'm sorry to read that people had trouble entering at Atlanta POE. I came in through that port and it went very smooth. I had no problems at all.

You have nothing to worry about. You are freaking yourself out for no reason whatsoever. I don't think that the previous issue will come up again. If the embassy wasn't satisfied with your proof, then they wouldn't have issued your visa. Take a deep breath.. you will be fine!

Mrs_Lyds,

No problem geting your social security card, name change after the marriage. Just take cert. copy of marriage license.,.,just please do not make the mistake we did.,.,.,.,get your ssn as soon as you get here.

Also, you must have all this done before 14-17 days before your I-94 expires!

Just advice from someone who made a huge mistake with SS card. Changing your name is easy""""after"""" you marry.,.,.,as your I=94 has your maiden name. It has no idea who your first name and your husbands last anme is.,.,.,.,,"it will be rejected".,.,saying no such person exists!

Honestly, no, I don't think you will be put through a similar interview at POE as you were at the embassy. You will be fine!
