Where's my interview letter?!

Hello everyone,

As per my timeline, we applied for AOS last September and my EAD and AP were approved in December. (yay!) I'm getting a bit concerned, though, because we still haven't received an interview letter.

From checking the USCIS website, it appears that processing times for Miami cases average about 6 months from application to interview - which would mean we should have our interview around March this year. Shouldn't we have received an interview letter by now? From reading the forum, I see that some people are getting their letters even before AP or EAD are approved and it's making me nervous that we haven't yet.

Can anyone offer any insight? Any Miami applicants out there in the same boat?

Thanks very much

It's been stated on the boards (but I don't believe we have seen actual policy) that beginnning Jan. 1 there will be no interview until FBI security clearance is complete. It will take reports from people such as yourself for us to see if this is true.

We are Miami applicants. Our NOA1 for AOS was July 7 and we just received our interview letter on Friday. We had no indication anything was happening as there were no "touches" since October. Interview is Feb 13.

Thanks for your input, Neonred. It would seem from your experience that it's 6 to 7 months for Miami interviews and the interview letters come less than a month before the actual interview date. Fair enough - -I'll just keep waiting!

Roosterwife,

I just received my interview notice for March 26, 2007. I am also in Miami and my NOA 1 is from November 15, 2006. I did not have any touches since December 8, 2006.

Hope you get yours soon.

That Jan 1st date may be referring to the NOA1 date, which for most of us is substantially far removed from Jan 1st. I wouldn't expect to see any changes for a while.

As far as the letter, you can see from my timeline that we didn't get our interview letter until a month after being approved for AP and EAD, and only a month before the actual interview date...which happens to be tommorrow!

Every case is diffrent..... you wont get called for an interview until your case is ready.... some cases are faster than others but that does not mean that there is a problem with yours.... its just taking longer...

Be glad you did not file in 2005 when most cases were taking between 10 months and 2 years to get an interview.....
