Hello everyone,

It's been 8 years since I went to College and had F1 visa, I went out of status and when I could not afford school anymore. My interview is coming up and I have everything ready, I just wonder if there is a chance that I may be asked for school transcripts to show that I was going to school. I read someone was issued a RFE during the interview requesting the transcripts.

In my package I sent the different I-20's I had and every NOA's from USCIS I received when I changed visas (H4 to F1) including a denial letter from USCIS when I applied for EAD while on F1 visa due economic hardship.

At this point in my journey I have not received any RFE's and it has move pretty smooth and somewhat fast. Have anyone heard about this documents being requested? how common is it? or not at all?

Thank you

Hi Wavj

The only thing I can say for certain is that it varies from officer to officer.

During my interview (years ago as well!), the officer asked to see everything; my father's income tax returns, bank statements, retirement funds ... Including my transcripts. However, I've heard from friends and posters on other forums that the officers didn't even take a look at any of their documents that they brought.

There is no definitive answer to this. It varies from case to case. I know this doesn't help but I think you should keep this in mind while prepping for the interview.

Best of luck and do let us know how it goes!!

No no no you don't need transcripts misser. Good luck.

I had my AOS Interview recently and the IO requested documentation of attendance of initial school (i.e. RFE). But as others have stated, each IO is different. Having too much info is better than not having enough.
