Confused by comment in status and what I thought I knew

Hello all I called the NVC and got our case number today. When I checked status on the CEAC website it said

'Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.'

Does this mean that we don't have to schedule an interview in at the embassy in Manila, they have already scheduled it?

My understanding was that we had to schedule it on line.

immigrant visa's that go thru NVC, those cases the interviews are scheduled by NVC.
if you expedite, thru NVC or File a DCF, then you have to schedule it yourself.

K1 generally schedule their own interviews. How you do it, varies by embassy.
