So here we go again, after the thing with the sealed envelope immunisation dispute with our lawyers, they are now telling us that I can't sign the Adjustment of Status forms in my married name, as it isn't on my marriage certificate and I haven't changed it!! Well I know we were asked and I know we said I would be taking my husbands name, so I am now SO confused! My social security number came through the other day and that is in my married name, so now I am so confused. Please any advice would be so gratefully received!

I think your lawyers are idiots, truly. I'm sorry this is happening! Marriage certificates have the bride's maiden name on it, the certificate serves as proof you can take your husbands last name. I don't even know how your lawyers could not know this?! :ranting:

Please trust us, google it if you must! You have your marriage certificate, you CAN use your husbands last name as your surname on everything from now on. Including your AOS. *smh*
