Has anyone here tried scheduling an Interview even when case is still at NVC?

I know, K and IR/CR Visas are different, but there is an option online to schedule an interview for either visas. I used to not be able to do it, but I got curious and checked it today and it actually brought me to the next page. So I am wondering if anyone tried it before and if all went well or there were complications.

Appreciate your answers. B-)

usually the appointments for IR interviews are set by NVC.

I posit that if you are able to schedule something at ustraveldocs.com - it's a programming error.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

From what I know, only DCF and expedite IV cases are allowed to schedule their own embassy interview dates. But you can also give USEM a call to check if this is really feasible in your [or your parents'] case.

I thought so too.

Gotcha! Thanks.

The website will let you do it but you will run into complications because your case files would still be at NVC and they would only send it after they schedule your interview. Just to satisfy your curiosity, the appointment confirmation from the website will get you past the guards at the USEM grounds but that's about it.

You do not schedule your own interview, this is done by NVC. The system may allow you to schedule but the embassy will not allow the interview, they will tell you to come back on the date NVC set up.
