Hey everyone,

I have a couple questions relating to the I-864.

My wife does not meet the requirement of making money above 125% of the poverty line therefore her dad acts as co sponsor.

My question now:

1) Does she need letters of employments from the two jobs she has anyway? Or is the most recent tax return enough given that she doesn't make enough anyway?

2) Her dad meets the requirement easily. However I am confused what he has to provide as evidence. He has a signed letter of employment. Alongside is a copy of his most recent W-2 and Form 1099 enough? Or does he need even more? And I know we need a copy of his passport also!

The wife needs most recent tax transcript or a complete copy of tax return which all forms, attachments, schedules, W-2s and 1099s, and letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs from her jobs. The joint sponsor needs the same plus proof of being a USC or LPR. I suggest the IRS tax transcripts so you do not get an RFE for sending an incomplete tax return > http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Alright thank you! Another question: She only works very few hours at one of her two jobs. And she is probably going to quit there really soon. So can I just drop that job and not even list it?

Sure, since you are using a joint sponsor. She doesn't have to prove she meets the requirement(since she doesn't), the joint sponsor does.
