Hey how is it going guys? I just found out a few days ago my wifes and daughters case had been sent to CDJ the expedite process was approved and they where mailed out on july 11th. I called CDJ but they said I needed to wait for a letter to schedule an interview, does anyone know how long the letter takes to arrive, the operator told me two weeks. I also had one more question, in the CDJ website it states I need a long form birth certificate.now I have a birth certificate but I do mot know if it is the long form one it has my info where I was born and my parents info it also states the abstract form in small words at the bottom. I dont know if this is the long form can someone help please? thanks!

The beneficiaries need the long form birth certificate, not the USC. That means a birth certificate with the parents names on them.

No. Review the IV (immigrant visa) supporting documents on the NVC website to make sure you have everything for both immigrants.

thanks for the info the thing is I am looking at the requirements at CDJ, the consulate I will have the interview at. One requirement is to have the petitioners original long form birth certificate (not abstract) and applicants birth certificate. Applicants with non-English or non-Spanish birth certificates must submit a notarized translation with the original. This is where I get confused.

As far as I know, yes both the petitioner and beneficiary need the long form. The long form is basically the one that has both parents' name on it.

In mexico, there is only one type of birth certificate which is the "long" form. The U.S. is the one that has the long and abstract. You need the "long" one that states both your parents name on it (the abstract is the little piece of paper). FYI that "long form" does not mean it will actually be long, it just means the complete version of the birth certificate.

Also, Ciudad Juarez Consulate is different from others b/c they have this requirement on their instructions list. Other people who have gone to CDJ have said the beneficiary needs both birth certificates.
