Hello all! I recently found this site a few weeks ago and it seems helpful for preparing me and my significant other for the long process. I would like to make some friends on here that could help me make the process as easy as possible for my girlfriend and I. I would prefer people that have been through the process fairly recently (last few years) and live in north Georgia, although I won't turn good people down. I am waiting on some forms from her then I will start the process next month. The Philippines was just hit with a hurricane so it will slow her down a few days.

Welcome to the VJ Forums,

A few months ago we were basically in your shoes. I was suggested this site from a prior filer and my fiance and I had been looking over the 129-f packet and what to include. We were going for top heavy petition. Then we joined this site right after we turned in our petition and were excited to have our first "entry" onto our timeline lol.

But there are plenty of knowedgeable VJourneyiers on here who have been through all types of situation so good luck on the Journey and have fun gathering all the paperwork :P. Definitely can learn about each other during this process too :)

Welcome.

Yes many of us are watching the Philippines, so many with out power, displaced from their homes... and sadly loss of life.

To assist you with the process for the I-129F petition through USCIS the GUIDE here on VJ works well.

When you get to the actual visa phase of this process in Manila follow the flashing arrow below.

Stock up on your supply of patience.... ;)

Hi there! Welcome to the forum!

Good for you that you discovered VJ on the onset of your filing. I only found out about this site after 7 months of waiting. So count yourself lucky.

VJ has several helpful resources (one of which was linked by Hank above) and these can be accessed by links at the blue header atop each VJ page.

Have fun assembling your I-129f packet! Cheers!

Welcome to the forum!

Wow, I was in the Pinas around the same time you went. Yes, VJ is an awesome resource and is a like the "bible" of anything visa related. Study the K1 guide, collect all your paperwork and stock up on patience and skype time, lol. Seriously though, there's alot of "veteran" people such as: Hank_, Greenbaum, Sweet Cakes (to name a few) who have been helpful in providing the necessary information needed to help you & your fiancee in obtaining her visa. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Most of us are willing & ready to help you out. Just be clear and concise with your questions and it will be answered promptly.

Good Luck!

Thanks all for the replies and information. I am following the guide for the I-129F very specifically and I have finished everything; just waiting on my girlfriend's G-325A and letter of intent. This site covers the process really well. If there is anyone in or around my area, Calhoun, GA, I would like to know so my girlfriend can have more Filipino friends. I already know a few here but I am looking to see if there are any from here (VJ). I am prepared for the long wait because I have to wait for her to graduate college in March/April anyway.

Looks like you will be arriving in time to enjoy some of the summer heat! At least we are getting some rain right now... it doesn't rain much in the desert.

Which reminds me, your skin will start to feel very dry, wife found Burt's Bees lotion to work the best.
