Hi everyone,

We received our letter from the NVC yesterday (I-129F was filed early May) and immediately started the DS-160 form online. That will be completed today. Our question is; do we now have to wait for the letter from the (in this case) embassy in Sweden before booking a medical examination and interview? Or can that process be started already?

This forum has truly be helpful and amazing. Thank you!!

Hi ZillaOlsen,

I am still waiting to pay the DS260 invoice for my hubby. The NVC is taking forever on this process. How long after the NVC received your stuff did you get to start paying invoices and sending payment?

Anyways, to answer your question the best I can from what I've seen with other people, it just depends on the doctors. I would call them and try to book it. I think it varies from country to country. This is from what I've read and not personally experienced. It's worth a call. I think they may want you to bring the letter, but if you explain the process is taking longer then usual then they may allow you to get the medical done without it.

Good luck!!

That's a great idea! Thank you! I'll try to call the doctor and book an appointment already. Fingers crossed that it'll work. Want to be on top of this process as much as possible, you know.

We received the NOA2 on June 17 and the letter from the NVC was sent on July 7. I guess when we submit DS-160 we need to pay a fee of $240, is that what you mean?

Thank you again for the advice. Good luck to you and your husband on the visa stuff!!
