I am, 23, US female citizen, presently visiting Pakistan and going to marry here, with him, 28 old. We both are Pakistanis. Later I intend to file petition for my spouse. May I have some good suggestions from you worthy members here so as to avoid any upcoming hurdles in our case.

Is this an arranged marriage?

Hello Jiya,

If you are having Nikah or Marriage(Ruksati) I would suggest take as much Pics as you can, and when registering your Nikah nama, also ask for English transcript of it right away, Take 3,4 photo copies of that Nikah Nama and Attest them with Goverment officer, also ask your Husband to be to to make his passport and pics ready . and when you go to Pakistan take the forms 1-130 and G325A , he can sign them and you can bring back with you and submit your papers it will save you heck lot of a time

Below is a link for more requirment for I130 form, have a look at it and gather all the requirment before coming back to US, it will help you submit your papers as early as possible

Hi,

My advise is to make sure you keep all the receipts for anything you buy during the wedding. Take pictures with your husband and his and your family if possible. Keep a copy of the air ticket and any other documents that may serve as a proof of your visit. Also, save any call history logs for phone, Skype or any other form of communication. Stay with your husband for some time after marriage and note down the address where you stayed together. This address will be needed on I130 that you will file for him when you come back. Get your original marriage certificate signed by you and your husband and also get a NADRA marriage certificate. For you to be able to file I130 for your spouse, marriage must have been consummated before you file the petition. In order to prove this make sure that you have pictures of barat as as well as walima. Save copies of any financial documents that you may have such as any joint property or if you remit any money to your spouse so on and so forth. So the bottom line is the more evidence you have the better. Get a copy of your spouse passport and birth certificate. Also, two face pictures of your spouse and two of yourself. Pictures should be according to USCIS specs. I think that pretty much everything you will need to start the I130 process once you come back to US.

Read the I 864 form, sounds like you need a co sponsor.
