Trouble sending out NOA?

I justspoke with an immigration officer again, because we have not yet received my wifes NOA. Well, the agent would not tell me much because I was not the applicant (even though we filed jointly).

She stated that some service centers are having issues with sending out NOA's, and my wife needs to call in so they can get something sent into the service center so they can submit an NOA asap. Anyone else hear this?

Timeline I-751 (Removal of conditions):

12/21/2006 - Sent to Vermont Service Center UPS Early AM Overnight

12/22/2006 - Reached Vermont Service Center

12/26/2006 - USPS Money Order cashed ($275.00)

01/04/2006 - Individual Fee Register Receipt Received

02/05/2007 - NOA Received

02/05/2007 - Biometrics Appointment Received

02/15/2007 - Biometrics Appointment

03/14/2007 - Finally made it in to do biometrics. No problems going in a month late

06/20/2007 - Received an Email stating that her card was "Ordered for production"... WE'RE APPROVED

06/25/2007 - 10 Year Green Card Arrived!!!!!

Called back in when my wife was home. Talked to a really nice officer, who like my wife, was Philipino. We actually made some pretty cool small talk.

Anyway, he said we should have received NOA, and he got some info from us and sent a request to the VSC that they send uot our NOA asap. He said if we do not have it within 30 days to call back in with the confirmation number he gave us.

He was the nicest USCIS officer I have dealt with yet...

Did the officer mention why they were having problems sending out the NOAs?

Oh this is just great.

I guess I now know why I haven't yet received my NOA despite VSC having received my I-751 forms at the beginning of December.

Guess this means taking the morning off of work on Monday to call VSC myself as well so i'm sure to get a NOA before my green card expires in less than a month and a half...

Damn USCIS, man, if it isn't one thing it's another....

Thanks for the heads up, doctorvtec!

Call the National hotline. You may have to call a few times before you get an officer that has a clue. The first one I called the one day had no clue and told us to wait 2 more weeks. The next day, the two I spok to knew what was up.

Call and explain your situation, and they should send a notice to VSC to please send an NOA out.

I called the hotline today to see what was up with my NOA not being sent to me (VSC received my I-751 on Dec. 7th). She took my and my daughter's A numbers and verified address and tel. no. and gave me a confirmation number. I was told the proverbial "If you haven't heard anything in 30 days, then call us back with the confirmation number". Well 30 days from now will just leave 2 weeks before my green card expires and I can't allow that to happen...so I'll make an InfoPass appointment as well as a back-up to get a stamp in my passport so I don't have to worry about stopping work.
