I may be mistaken, but I am pretty sure I have seen you jump on the "America doesn't need guns" bandwagon before. If I am wrong, sorry in advance. But I will be keeping one eye on your posts from now on, young man! ;)

I guess it depends on the numbers one uses. Just looked again, and have seen percentages as low as 7% (radicals) and I recently heard/saw 25% (was that in the video in first post? Can't remember, may have been).

Here's some numbers for you to play with: http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Are_the_Overwhelming_Majority_of_Muslims_Peaceful_Moderates

If 36.6% of all muslims think 9/11 was justified, and there are about 1.5 billion islamists in the world today, that's about 549 million that feel America deserved 9/11. Doesn't mean they would go out and kill themselves to punish the US, no. But they feel, in some way, that it was justified.

Now if we go with a low of 7%, that means there are about 105 million extremists. If we use only 20%, that means there are about 300 million. Pretty close to the US population. But I would say getting an accurate count is pretty darn tough, even if the surveys had guaranteed anonymity.

Questions on the survey:

1) Are you are radical islamic?

2) Do you seek to kill all who do not believe in islam?

3)... you get my point.

My stance on guns has always been this:

The places where the most gun deaths happen(Chicago, Baltimore, Oakland) don't need more guns. The problem is more complex than the let's arm everyone mantra some people have chanted here. Because those victims are usually children. I have no issue with personal protection, collection, or even hunting. But, if you take a good look at where the most bloodshed is being caused, you'll never hear someone say we need more guns. No parent or loved one is in front of the camera advocating if we only had more guns, this wouldn't have happened. They want more gun control, they want the criminals off the street. In Chicago this weekend alone dozens were shot. http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/07/justice/chicago-shootings/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 I don't recall any Muslims acting up, but as soon as Ramadan is over, I'm going to commit an act of terror at Egg and I, that big pancake is going to get the business!

As for your second piece, I'd do some more research. Your link has charts from thereligionofpeace website. They hate Muslims with a passion. They think I'm a terrorist just because I'm a Muslim. They can't be unbiased for any reason, so I'm weary to believe that 1.6 billion Muslims want to kill Americans.

And same to you, since I know you serve as well.

And THERE you have it, folks, he finally admitted it. During ramadan, too, so it must be even MORE true...

I'd cut you if I had the strength, I mean, peace be with you. (F)

I would not venture into determining how committed to his faith Marvin is. That is between him and god. Just saying...

However, we agree on one point: There are some religious fundamentalists in Islam who believe god command them to do harm to others, but in all fairness this is not something that happens in Islam only. There are similar nutjobs in Christianity and Judeism. There have been religious nutjobs since religion was invented and any of the sacred books carry passages, verses or chapters that might be interpreted as condoning violence.

The issue here is not religion, so much as education. You are most likely to find fundamentalism amongst the uneducated - you can see that right here in America, so you can imagine how easy it is to have someone engage in religious-based terrorism in some countries where people live in medieval conditions and lack basic education. All you need to is prey on the uneducated to get your religion going - look at televangelism right here in America.

Good point on line #1. But I still say a recent convert to anything (not just religion) is nowhere near as devout as someone who has been doing it for years. I started keeping bees this year, but I can assure you there are folks who have been doing it much longer who are WAY more into it than I...

Yes, ignorance is the foundation of wacky (religions, beliefs, acts, whatever) people. Waco comes to mind. And Jonestown (Did you know that It was the largest such event in modern history and resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until the events of September 2001?)

I have seen training/recruiting videos from some of those "nutjobs". They portray us as hedonistic animals, and ramp up hysteria to fuel a hatred for our lifestyle. If I were living in a desert having to cover every square inch of my body when it was 140°, I might be angry enough based on THAT when I saw an American woman running around on a beach in a bikini. Heat and sweat tend to make me VERY irritable...

I'd cut you if I had the strength, I mean, peace be with you. (F)

That's the great thing about this forum, Bro... you can always come back and read this and revive the thread when your holiday is over. :)

And thanks, but I need more than peace. I need a rain shower. Have any pull with the weather folks out there?

And may your day and your sacrifices be blessed, as well.

It's weird, this year the summer is a lot cooler. Like in the high 70's, early 80's. Even on the 4th of July, it wasn't really hot, just very warm. We only lasted about 4 hours at the fair before we called it a day and went back home.

Same to you brother. I'm really thinking about that pancake...

Blueberry pancakes about the size of a dinner plate. Drizzled with fresh honey outta the hive, topped with whipped cream, and fresh strawberries on the side.

Nothing to think about. Don't even read this. Just go meditate. Think healthy thoughts. No pancakes in sight. No pancakes...

If the Western lifestyle is so bad, why don't these nutjobs stop their own people from migrating to the West then?

Hypocrite I would say.. want to have the cake and eat it too.

Off topic, but... did you have to do biometrics and/or an interview for ROC?

It's a logical question, but I am sure you are not allowed to ask it here. You don't have the right to question their motives, just accept that they hate it here, they hate people with more freedoms than they have, and they will travel as far as it takes to show us how much they hate it. And appease them when they find living conditions in the US intolerable, of course...

And pray tell what should we peaceful Muslims be doing? If someone wants to fly me over there and get those girls back, my negotiating skills are pretty good, but really?

Really Marvin... if Islam doesn't care enough about themselves to quash those giving them a bad name in the name of their religion, who should be responsible?

Tell me, how do you quash it? There's organziations that are dedicated to trying to work with people(CAIR, Muslims for peace to name a few) and stop these horrible things from being carried out in Islam's name. But how do you stop someone if they want to do these things and claim Islam made them do it?
