Hi first of all I'd like to say this website is brilliant and I don't know what I'd do without it! Thanks, secondly I have been with my us fiancee for a year and a half now and we met for the first time a week ago, we get along so well and I.proposed on the final night of being.there! And I plan on moving over to get married. Basically I'm asking.as she won't have a permanent address until November so I.would like to know if she files the i129 (I will be.living near St Paul! So I'm not sure where it will get send to) if it's send it november is.there a good chance I'll be able to get married in mid august as that's what's planned! Many thanks from you all, such a helpful forum. Thanks Liam.

You've been with her for a year and a half and you met for the first time last week. Does this involve a contraceptive and a time machine or something?

The USC files the petition. The NOA notices will be sent to whatever address she lists. Your address is no concern but you will have to return to your country to conduct the medical and attend the interview.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

This being July 1st, and you wanting to get married (here in the USA?) by mid-August, a K1 visa will definitely NOT work. A month and a half is too little time. You can come over, get married, then go back to your country to do a spousal visa though.

Is your plan to get married in 2014 or 2015? If it's 2015 and she is filing from Minnesota (California Service Center) and they keep moving at the speed they're moving at, then I'd expect that you could get married in Aug 2015. But there are a lot of things that it depends on and it sounds like the service center speeds are like the tides of the ocean (some times fast, some times slow but always a little unpredictable) so be sure not to buy plane tickets for your whole family.

Good luck with your process

If your USC fiancée will send the I-129F petition in November of this year, there is a good chance you would be able to come here by August 2015.

Many thanks to all the answers and the reason being we only.just met (in person) is money and job wise, I work full time and it's hard to get time of work as I'm always on call. I would be moving in 2015 thanks everyone.

that time frame makes much more sense! I'm sorry I didn't understand you meant 2015. Your timeline is totally doable. :) congrats on your engagement.
