A recent Gallup poll finds that 65% of Americans disapprove of the preznit's handling of immigration.

But of course the White House blames Republicans for the flood of illegals.

This, while the "most transparent administration .... evaaaah" refuses to release figures of how many illegals are being released

Why is it so hard for this preznit to obey the law he's sworn to uphold?

The American people have had enough. Most everyone agrees to close the border first and shut off the endless sea of people crossing our borders illegally with the expectation they somehow deserve to cut in line and catch a break.

If it's such an important issue to Americans - why aren't the major parties doing anything about it?

Yep, as I say in the OP, 65% of Americans agree. But your preznit knows better, and is doing an end-around past Congress, as he has with so many issues. He lacks the courage to approach this as prescribed by law.

Illegal immigration needs to be addressed, however the reality is that none of the major parties seem to have any appetite for it.

Have the American people "had enough"? Apparently not.

So, removing politicians and other American people out of this, can you please briefly indicate what things you believe should be changed first about immigration?

Because national elections are decided on a razors edge these days. Americans do want something done on immigration - but changes need to have some bipartisan support so each side looks to what will not alienate their base yet look like they are doing something. They have to play the game of pleasing the middle while not alienating the extremes or pleasing the extremes while not alienating the middle... To please republicans they talk of securing the boarder, the democrats get talk of amnesty, businesses get an increase of the H-1B visa count (as if that is even part of the same issue!)

None of this solves the long term problem - in fact it makes it worse by encouraging more people to come over the border for the next round of Amnesty. We are seeing this now.

On the other hand, building hundreds of miles of fencing? Not so much.

Whatever costs building a fence might incur, they're minuscule compared to allowing this new surge of illegals into the US, and giving the appearance (as the preznit is wont to do) that illegals are somehow welcome or likely to receive amnesty.

You still haven't said why.

That flies in the face of these poll results. Do you have evidence that they're inaccurate?

Is that really a question that needs answering? It's common sense surely. Why do you think illegal immigration needs to be addressed? I figure if I turn the question around you'll realise that it was silly to ask it.

I haven't said the poll is inaccurate. I've said that it flies in the face of the obvious in-your-face fact that politicians aren't tackling the issue and voters continue to elect them without any concrete commitment to tackling the issue.

You can post as many polls as you like, it's not going to change it.

And you've seen it for at least the last 30 years. What has changed?

The sheer numbers and our ability to absorb.. It like asking why not borrow another trillion? It works until it does not..
