Why a red flag and age difference

Iv been reading on red flags why dose it make a difference of age if two people love each other

We had a 24 year difference and it did not matter at all. The IO didn't even mention it.

It appears for some countries its an issue, for other countries its not.

We also have a 24 year age difference. My husband is from Holland. Our age difference was never mentioned throughout our whole immigration process.

In some countries, like Nigeria - men almost never marry older women. But you see a lot of cases of a much older American woman wanting to marry a Nigerian man. Since it's a high fraud country and since that's so against the grain of their culture - it raises eyebrows.

Other countries, a lot of Asian and south Asian countries, it's well known that girls don't really care about age when it comes to a man. So they'll see relationships with a large age difference there and it's okay. It just depends on where it is and the whole range of circumstances. It's just one of the many factors they look at.

Because it's not normal for there to be a large gap in ages - or at least, a large gap in ages where the woman is older - in America, let alone other countries. Whenever you do something outside the norm, you run the risk of more scrutiny. (In particular, for immigration? Because Things Outside the Norm could be a flag for fraud. Anyone can talk about being in love, so folks who have to make these decisions look for the out-of-the-norm that might indicate this is convenience or fraud, instead of an actual relationship.)
