Cancelled K1 Visa Interview

I was petitioned for a K1 Visa last year, got approved however when I was about to schedule my interview by October 2013, I decided to back out because my relationship with my now- ex-fiance was unbearable with all his cheating and I felt that I would be living a lie if I still go through the whole K1 Visa process.

So I ended up being single again and working overseas now in an Offshore vessel, my question is, will my past K1 Petition create an impact if ever I apply for the required C1/D or Transit Visa for Filipino Seafarers in case my ship goes to the U.S.? Do I need to call the Manila US Embassy? Please help me.

Sorry to hear things fell apart, but you did the right thing

I doubt it will be an issue. Did you contact the embassy when you canceled the visa last year or just walk away? Just apply for the visa, answer all questions honestly, I don't see you having any issues because of the past K-1 petition.

Thank you responding Hank, it's been awhile since I last visited this site. I didn't contact the embassy, I decided to walk away even if I already paid the interview fee, it doesnt really matter though, I'm just glad that I didn't go through the interview process, now my ex-fiance had been emailing me, threatening me to write the US Embassy that I deceived him for applying K1 Visa and that he wants my passport and any future US visa application that I would be required since I need the Transit Visa for Seafarers denied. I am upset with how he blackmails me when we both know that he was the one who hurt me and I just decided to end it by walking away from everything, even gave up the chance of living the American dream because I cannot share it with his immaturity and silly games.

I hope you're right Hank, so that I can push through my Transit Visa once my company assigns me to a US bound vessel.

He can write to the embassy until he is blue in the face, you walked away, you never completed the visa application... the embassy will see that, they won't see "visa fraud" or any other BS that you EX is pushing at you.

It may be better for your well being to add his email adderess to your SPAM filter.

Are you the USC or the beneficiary? If you are the USC, a simple notarized letter to USEM (or to the USCIS if it never got as far as USEM) will cancel it.

You can relax. The ex is behaving like a bully, ignore the idle threats -- he can do nothing to negatively impact any future visa applications you submit.

You might get asked about the approved I-129F petition whenever you interview for a different type of visa, just explain why you did not follow through.

The Embassy gets threats like yours (coming from your Ex) from many, many jilted lovers. They ignore such things because most are just BS or someone trying to manipulate the process. Also, as long as it was not a blatant case of fraud, which most are not so USEM just ignores them. You should do the same. Just relax and get on with your life and ignore this......
