Has anyone flown on Norwegian Air Long Haul before? They have a really great price from Gatwick to LAX. My husband would then have to stay the night in LA and then fly home the next morning, but through all that the flight is still $500 cheaper than flying directly to SLC.

I just have never heard of this airline. It makes me nervous.

Well I did read that, but the people there have yet to fly. I was wondering if anyone had already flown and what their experience was. I found some ratings online and there were okay and not okay. My biggest concerns were delays. So I was just hoping to find someone who had already flown with them.

This is my first time hearing of this airline after Travel Supermarket suggested them.

I normally fly LAX with New Zealand but this time around the price from Norwegian was unbeatably good, so I booked it. Never flown with them before and online reviews range from satisfactory to very poor. Seems they have had some problems with delayed departures and some customer service issues too. Perhaps this should be expected of a new service provision, I don't know. I'm not sweating it too much - at the end of the day I will get there eventually and money saved makes it worth it.

I'm a tall guy so comfort on the aircraft is always a big deal, but nothing a few sleeping pills can't make a little easier.

If you're determined by money, I say go for it.

I surprised her with a proposal in Los Angeles, and this is how it went down!

Looking ahead, I did a price check on a one-way ticket from NYC - London for March of next year; Norwegian had a ticket for 215 quid!!!!!!! And I'm thinking, me, do they put you in the cargo hold!!!???

And PBJ is right - if you're driven by cost, then you can't go wrong, but as always, and pay attention here........................YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Never ceases to amaze me the way people about flights they pay peanuts for. That's why they're cheap, folks - there's no frills!

Thanks everyone. I understand you get what you pay for so I am not expecting much. My husband will have a nine hour layover in LAX also so I am not worried about the delays. I just hate not knowing who they are really.

Thank you all!

Report on his flight. My husband took the Norwegian flight from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale. He said at the Gatwick they were jerks. Even after showing the agent his passport she almost refused to let him board without an ESTA. After a good fight he got on his flight. He said it was a great flight the staff were a mix of American and European staff. They treated him great. The plane was very nice (Boeing 787-8). He said it was also a very smooth ride the whole way. He would recommend them in the future.
