Potential Interview Waiver Case vs Testing and Interview

I have noticed a trend in a lot of AOS cases.

I noticed that if your status doesn't change to "Testing and Interview" within maximum of a month after you had your biometrics you are one of those selected for "Potential Interview Waiver ". I have gone as far back as 2012 studying peoples timelines and I have noticed this. Everybody that didn't have a status change with a month eventually received the interview waiver letter.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I had my biometrics about 2 months ago and no change in status for me.

I have seen few people recently who got interview waiver that is more than 2 months after biometric taken without changing to Testing and Interview. My wife's application is 2 months after biometric in about 5 more days without changing to Testing and Interview. I am kinda worry whats going now with her application. It is still at Initial Review.

From studying other approved cases I think if your case doesn't change to "Testing and Interviewing" Max a month after biometrics you are one of the interview waiver case. I applied the same week as you and still haven't had any update

Not necessarily. I did not get mine until the six-month-mark, over five months after my biometrics. Also, people should keep in mind that even if they receive a potential interview waiver letter, they might still be called for an interview. It happens rarely, but it does happen.

I had my biometrics about 2 months ago and no change in status for me.

I had my biometrics 40 days ago and my I-485 case is still at 'Acceptance', so hopefully I'm in that boat too. Interesting thing to notice!

Our case isn't a standard for all of USCIS, but I thought I'd add my two cents. We live in Alaska, and apparently due to having a lot of rural areas (No road access to a USCIS facility) it makes scheduling a lot trickier than normal (scheduling Biometrics and interviews). Since this is the case, the Alaska offices do all their own scheduling. The problem with that scenario is that they don't have access to the national database, so cases don't update online until they are completed. In other words you have to wait and receive the paper documentation in the mail for each step. Luckily our local office isn't busy this time of the year, so we got through the process relatively simple, but looking at my timeline one would notice that my case never updated the entire time it was in USCIS and went directly from "Acceptance" to "Card/Document Production" and actually that didn't even update until the card was produced and put in the mail with a tracking number.

I guess my point here is not to pay TOO much attention to cases from offices outside of your own. There are too many variables in how things can be done between the local offices, so when following timelines and doing research, etc. be careful to use information as similar to your exact case as possible and you'll have the best idea of how your case will progress.

You should put in a service request or contact your state representative.

called uscis and they are still processing july 26 2013 cases from last year. they said to keep waiting. chicago office is the slowest office in the world. all other ones show processing dates of december 2013, november 2013, october 2013. whats going on in chicago office

Well, my local office (OKC) is currently processing July 9, 2013 dates, so as you see, there are offices that are even slower than yours. But yes, I can feel your pain. It is not fair that others can put in a service request months ahead of others, just because their local offices are faster than other ones (and even though the case is at the NBC!).

chicago office has moved to august 21 2013 processing dates but we have not received anything! called uscis number they said to wait. not sure whats going on with our case.
