You absolutely need proof that the co-sponsor filed taxes.

Did you talk with the dad about what exactly he is afraid of?

You don't need W2, tax transcripts are enough and have less info, so he may be ok with that. He can get them free from the IRC with just a phone call.

If he did not file tax return then its other thing but if he does not want to give you then you should get other joint sponsor....

If he did not file tax return so he should have tax extension paper....

This tax extension paper can work in place of tax return......now you know very well what you need to do !!!!!

I advise you that you should go to your interview with the oapers that you have and try.

Sometimes they dont ask for nothing at tge interview.

And just in case that they ask for that they will give you a 221g and when you submit the missing papers they will issue the visa.

In my case I went to my interview and they didnt ask for nothing , I am from a high fraud country and it is mandatory that the petitioner be present at the interview , I was alone without the petitioner and even that they didnt ask for any papers.

So you can try , you arent going to losse nothing, they dont deny papers just for tax transcript.
