Got there before lawyer. He got there. Not many people were there when we checked in. He knew about the second interview but said he had seen that for a few other cases in same format and unsure why that was happening (so it wasn't something I did). So then we waited a long time, people after us were going in. Lawyer asked, found out cause only found our file late to officer. So we waited 2 long hours to be seen. Husband noted the bit fat file had his pic on it and was like "how does he have my pic, I just got here"....so I realized my I130 was attached already. YAY.

From get go the officer seemed nice. Maybe he felt bad for me walking with a cane (ankle surgery/torn ligaments). So when swearing in, he told me to remain seated.

Never asked for birth certificates. Our interview was very relaxed. I was nervous at first but it was actually fun and nice. He apologized for the wait. Said not to worry about 2nd interview, good we came today. Never got asked for birth certificates.

Questions asked:

Said to me so you applied through employment, fell in love, and now adjusting based on marriage, me "yes that's the short version, basically yes".

Asked my date of birth and address. Also the yes/no on I485

Do you know his brothers? What do they do? (I answered).

Tell me about your wedding? Told about both civil and actual ceremonies, showed pics which he really like, the wedding ones, kept two.

Asked how we met? (online, first time 2010, didn't work out, turned bit sour even before meeting, reconnected in 2011).

Asked him why he was on an indian dating site? (he's been asked that by so many on my side. So he talked about that)

Asked him what Indian food he liked?

Talked about some Bollywood movie star?

Documents shared,

Passports for both, some mail/letters, insurance...all voluntarily shared, none asked for specifically.

Our interview was very relaxed and fun actually. We were chatty, he was chatty. He stated several times that our story was interesting and compelling. Then he was like I am approving you, want to approve you but your fingerprints are not uploaded in system so technical glitch and he couldn't approve. He stated several times he wanted to approve me. Told me he will make sure to finish and approve by Friday then call me so I can come back and get passport stamped. He took down my cell number to call me. I asked about EAD biometrics for tomorrow. Since GC was not approved on spot, he said I can go today and get it done. He gave the letter stating held for review. I had no doubt though he wanted to approve us right off but for glitch. So then went to get EAD biometrics. As I am going through, see missed call and message stating come back and he will stamp passport. So got passport stamped. YAY....so so happy. He came to hall where everyone was waiting to give me stamped passport and shake my hand and everyone was looking at me. Lol. Didn't even talk about Removal of Conditions. I think he got too happy that he forgot.

On flip side nothing has changed online in any of my cases...so it's weird cause my passport is stamped.

So all in all a very positive experience.

I am sure fat files do wonders too :) I had stressed they hadn't attached the I130 to my I485 when I got there. My case is a bit unique. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect interview.

I do worry though as no updates have happened on my case online. Still same old...

Is it normal and should I be worried in any way? I mean I have the passport stamped....

My interview was Long Island City, NY. My case status is still same online though...so it feels weird. I guess the stamp trumps the online status?

Congratulations

Thanks!
