The man did say they would contact us when a case number was assigned. Did they contact you? I think I remember reading that that's just a bunch of bologna and you need to stay on top of it ..

No, they didn't contact me. They gave me that usual "30 business days" bs. Smh.

Because you feel like you're finally getting there, and then the carpet gets pulled out from under you. :-(

I said the same thing to my husband this morning. Lol!

You know, I think its because during the NOA2 wait i traveled back and forth freely whenever we could afford it. This time we are waiting till the interview to see each other again. It sucks, we have the money sitting there, waiting, and its up to them to decide when I get to see my husband again and they sure are taking their time. :ranting:

Huh? I don't get this. Why is it up to them to decide when you get to see your husband again? My understanding is you are free to travel anytime during this process, provided you provide enough proof and the border for the CBP if questioned. If it were me, I'd pass on having him here for the interview and I'd go see him or vice versa. Looking at your timeline and researching stats on Saylin' spreadsheet, you still have a wait of 6-8 weeks prior to your interview. Go see him girl!!!

I think the poster has decided personally to wait, not the they HAVE to wait. They're just saving money.

I did the same thing. Moving cost a lot of money so we were both trying to save for the NVC fees, interview fees (staying the week in Montreal), his flight up to move me, and the uhaul. There was equivalent or more money spent on immigration between March 2013 and June 2013 than we spent on flights, getting married, etc... the entire year before I think.

Exactly, my husband will need me there to help with the move after approval so right now i must sit and wait for the NVC to do their thing....

Whats worse is that my original AOS packet was sent on May 10 and after waiting the 30 days they make you wait for processing they informed me that they never even received it. I was told to RESEND it on June 17, that pushed back our case complete by at least another month...

*sigh*

Yeah...NVC wait is the worst :/

I feel for you. We live in border cities so we can cross often. NVC is taking their sweet time that's for sure. Just take my money and approve me already!!

Lol. I'm concerned they will lose my originals. Maybe EP will get better soon. I hope so. I have time to decide still but leaning towards snail mail right now.

Don't know if you know this already, but here is some good info I got about EP today:

I did EP and if you look at my signature, it takes longer than snail mail. One good thing happened to me though, I had a missing document that my stupid paralegal forgot to scanned and I thought will take another 30 days to be review( It didn't happened, they reviewed it right away). 1.The cons of doing EP is you can't find any information from the agents, they have no access to EP, they will not tell you when your case is review and what is the latest date they are working on. You can't either follow others because most of the time people do snail mail. 2.The Pros are , you don't have to send your original documents and pay delivery fees. As far I am concerned if you have a checklist, you can send right away your checklist and it doesn't take long for them to review it ( as per my experience, I don't know about other cases).

At this point is your choice, good luck in your journey!

Maybe one more note: now you don't have to send EP enrollment and wait for their email response. This is going to save you a month, also they don't send any more auto-replay and it could be stressful thinking what if they didn't receive your email.

I did read that today. Sounds good. But like everything on here all cases aren't created equal. Lol. I'm getting all my stuff together now and double checking it. By the time they are ready to take my money I will definitely know which way to go.

This is true, but I've heard so many horrible things about EP, that I think it's wise for me to stay away. Besides, I really hate sending emails. Lol!

I loved doing everything by EP. Last year the NVC was super quick though and I was through in 26 days. Took over a month to get my case numbers from approval date and my husband slowed it down so we ended up submitting AOS after the IV. (But in his defense I had to wait for the OPTIN acceptance email anyhow.)

I think there are just so many cases there right now, they're having a hard time keeping up with the work load. It's like when my job says this workload should take you XX hours. Well sometimes it takes less, sometimes it takes exactly that, and sometimes it takes quite a bit more depending on what I have to do. If people always make sure that everything they're sending is correct before they send it, it would take the NVC less time, but all these checklists I see in the NVC thread, they're just wasting their own time and everyone else's! I didn't get a single checklist at the NVC but I had my IV pdf done before I even got to the NVC! There's no reason, unless waiting on joint sponsors who don't have their s**t together, or getting auto expedited by the USCIS, etc, for the packages not to be completely done, and checked 10 times over for correctness, before you get to the NVC. Just my opinion of course. I mean what else do you have to do while waiting for the petition approval? LOL

Maybe I'm just a super planner. Shrug.gif

I am just like you NLR. I have been preparing for months. I am nervous about the i-864 though. Not sure what is to be left blank or have an "n/a" or"none" and I do not want any checklists. Its so hard to get the information though. Which I can understand. Nobody wants to go through all 9 of those forms with you when they have their own case to deal with.
