My biometrics was done almost 8 weeks ago. Is there any way which I can demonstrate extreme need for the EAD without having a job on the line?

Probably not. Lots of people struggle with the one income thing.

If that's the case, how did the I864 get accepted?

There was a joint sponsor. But I'm saying that's how serious the situation is

I'm in the same situation.

2 RFE's, and we didn't envision me still being unable to work in June after paying all the fees & filing in Feb.

Me & my wife are crippled financially. There are jobs available all over my town.

I just want to get out and help support us both.

if you feel it is that serious, write it up and send it in. They will approve or deny the expedite. Also, in the meantime, start looking for a job, so that you can get a job offer to say why you need the expedite.

We can defo do this?

I figured actively seeking a job without having EAD would be against the rules.

I know exactly how you feel. We hit a rough patch right after the paperwork was filed and it has been hell ever since. I have started looking for jobs, the most u can do if they call you in for an interview is to tell them you are going through your immigration process, most times they understand and give you some time to produce your documents necessary to work
