So my hubby filed my I130 in March and we are trying to get organized and ready for the next stage of the application.

Can anyone let us know what paper work / forms are needed for the next step of the application (i.e. past 3 years tax records) and whether or not they have to original documents.

Many thanks in advance for all your help

Thank you so much for the link. I don't know whether to laugh or cry ha ha This whole process is so complicated and stressful I can't wait to make it out the other side.

Thanks again, I've now got a long checklist of things I need to gather together x

Oh I so feel your pain I do.

Just make sure last 3 years taxes filed you only have to show most current tax year filed 2013. and yes originals or certified copies of originals. But good news is you are going through the most immigrant friendly embassy probably in the world.

I see you filed I-129F and I-130? Are you at Vermont or what?

The past years taxes are all done and up to date, no issues there. When you certified copies who can certify them? Scared real ones will go missing.

We never ended up filing an I 129, just waiting for the I 130 to go through. Still trying to figure this site out lol timelines and all. We both live in UK at the minute looking to move next year or whenever I get granted permission x

Certified copies you go back to the issuing body and they give you a copy of the original with all their signatures and stamps and whatever.

Your husband will have to show re-establish or establish domicile proof. In the NVC process wiki i attached is a good list to use. I do know London wants to know all that also.

Well I had a busy day today and now have a checklist a mile long!!!! Argrgggghhhhhhh. Every time I look at visa stuff I feel the need to drink ha ha

My hubby still has proof of domicile so no problems with that.

One more question, unless it's says certified copies, I take it a copy is sufficient???

Many thanks again for all your help, we feel like we are drowning in information sometimes x

Original or certified copy is all NVC will accept.

This is how I made it through the process. I only threw my phone at the wall once!

I don't know if this will stress you out even more, so take it as you will, but I labeled each piece of evidence with our case number (and the date? I think? don't remember...case # definitely) and if a document had multiple pages, I numbered the pages as well. Something about the intense organization of how I did all our packets made me feel better.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Another quick question or two??

When you take police certificate to the medical, do they keep it or do you just have to show it?? Can it be a photocopy?? Trying to figure out how many copies I need of things

At the interview do they keep all the documents you take ie wedding certificate, birth certificate, police certificate - do they have to be originals??

Many thanks once again for all your help and responses x

Check this website for London-specific items to bring to the interview. They mostly want proof of income/taxes. Not a lot of evidence to prove bonafide relationship is required, if any at all.

Pop into the UK forum and feel free to ask questions! Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. :)

Friend of mine just went through the interview/medical. Everything you take with you MUST be originals. Original birth certificates, marriage certifcate, any previous marriages divorce certs, original police report, all must be the originals and you take them along with you to the interview and they will have copies on hand that you have submitted and will check through to make sure that they match. Its a pain I know, my birth certifcate was in tatters and my big one is glued into my baby album (thanks mom) LOL so I just had to order a new one to take along when we get to that point. I have tried really hard to be organized along the way too but I was completely floored and was not expecting some of the required info on the DS-260 forms once our items got through USCIS. They wanted to know every single address I had lived at since age 16 up until present and how long at each address. In my career I moved a LOT the first few years and had I known ahead of time of that question I could have gone through paperwork and travelled to find those addresses, it took me over a month to gather all that information and I was frustrated because I could have had my DS-260s in so much quicker had I just had that information ready.
