OK so while I was undergoing this process my wife and I couldn't help but notice that there's a huge amount of information and even step by step guides in this regional forum for UK K1 filers and DCF filers but nothing much for CR1/IR1 filers. Now I know there's less of us than the lovesick fiancé visa types going through London but would anyone be interested in a step by step guide similar to the K1 version?

I definitely would be! I am in Saudi Arabia currently, but will be moving back to London with our kids soon to finish the process there. I am still waiting for my I-130 approval. We have been married for 7 years so I take it we would be going for the IR1. Does the process differ a whole lot between the CR1 and IR1?

I'm currently dying of man flu or some unspecified illness but when I can think clearly without my head spinning I will make a start on this and welcome any assistance

Wheatley and I exchanged email addresses and crafted the entire K1 thing in Word, deciding where to split into topics for the various phases. When finished we took turns posting topics 1,3,5,7 (me) and 2,4,6,8 (him) in rapid succession, despite who wrote most of the topic. We were sending PMs "Topic 1 posted. Go." "Topic 2 done. you're turn."

If you create in Word, do a preview because all the formatting doesn't come through well and will need an edit in the post sometimes. Now start writing, then compile and edit. Spell out the details and don't assume the reader knows what NVC, DOS, or XYZ means. Don't be shy in critiquing. I told him "compendium" was too big of a word for our intended audience. Just do it.

Then "report" the first post and ask that the thread be pinned. When somebody doddles through and asks a question in the thread or says "thank you" , report the post and ask that it be removed to keep the thread short and chatter free. They can thank you with a +1.

If you fresh-off-the-interview people want to put some things together, I can format and translate it into VJ form. I could perhaps add some advice, but it's been awhile and I went way overboard in terms of organization of packets and evidence.
